Throughout lockdown, we have been working hard behind the scenes on our strategy to ensure Spitalfields Market recent planned reopening was secure, safe and complies with Government guidelines. As of June 15th 2020:
The Traders Market has reopened, operating with a reduced number of stalls which have been redesigned with perspex screens & appropriate spacing to provide protection for both the stall holder and customers.
All shops and restaurants have reopened where social distancing can be maintained.
Keeping our community safe
To protect the health and safety of our market traders and visiting public, Spitalfields Market is promoting the practice of social distancing and good hygiene with the following measures.
Increased signage encouraging visitors to wash hands frequently and effectively, as well as advice on how to spot COVID-19 symptoms
Implementation of a 1-way system on Market Street and in Crispin Place, which will be clearly marked out with floor stencils
Hand sanitizer stations have been positioned around the Market
Cash-free transactions wherever possible
Regular tannoy announcements
We look forward to welcoming you back to Spitalfields!
