Any tourist, East-Londoner, or local worker will know that Spitalfields Market is always buzzing. The Traders Market is brimming with independent designers and curious browsing customers and Lamb Street is continuously packed with people following their nose to whatever food truck takes their fancy that day, be it a bacon butty from Le Swine or some crispy plantain, fresh out the fryer from 2 Nigerian Boys. It’s almost like we can smell it now!
However, when the Traders have packed up their stalls, and the food trucks have sold out and driven home, unbeknownst to some, the buzz of Spitalfields Market carries on late into the night. So, whether you’re looking for late-night drinks, a boujee date night with your loved one or just grabbing a bite to eat with friends, Spitalfields Market has you covered.
The modern bar and bistro serving up the finest modern British cuisine using carefully sourced, quality produce. The relaxed ambient vibe at Galvin Bistrot & Bar makes it the perfect spot to meet up with friends after work and the artisan Charcuterie menu makes for the most perfect sharing platter. Tuck into tapas such as Padron Peppers, Steak Tartare and Spicy Broadbeans while you select from the extensive list of exquisite wines available on tap (as well as by the bottle if the night starts escalating!) Plus, the location being just a stone’s throw from Liverpool Street station means every member of the party has an easy ride home afterwards. Galvin Bistrot & Bar is open until 10.30 pm on Monday-Thursday and 11.30 pm Friday-Saturday. The kitchen closes 1 hour before.

Fancy taking a trip through the wine region of California, rediscovering your favourite wines, as well as learning about plenty of newbies? Well, you can do that from the comfort of Spitalfields Market (or their Leadenhall branch at one of their wine tasting events). Right up to 11 pm from Monday-Saturday, you are welcome to enjoy public wine tastings, private wine tastings, wine by the glass and small sharing platters that have been created to accompany the various vinos on offer. Take advantage of their ‘Market Mondays’ too, where if you purchase a cheese &/or meat platter from 5 pm onwards, you can drink any of the bottles on the shelves at a takeaway price.
Bad day? Pub. Long day? Pub. Good day? Pub! There’s always an excuse to grab a cold one with a group of friends. As well as dishing up hearty British cuisine, The Grocer has a pretty impressive offering of wine, craft beer and cocktails to cater for all tastes. Located in the heart of Spitalfields Market, you’re invited to grab a seat indoors or outdoors with tables big enough to accommodate larger groups, with screens to show the biggest sporting events as well as a multitude of food and drinks offers and events throughout the year. (Cucumber currency day anyone?) The Grocer is open Monday-Saturday until 10.30 pm and Sunday until 9.30 pm.
