The North Pole is so last year, 2022 is all about the East Pole, and visitors to Spitalfields this season sure are in for a treat! There will be a multitude of merriness throughout the month of December as we make it our mission to spread Christmas cheer through East London and beyond. Enjoy Christmas film screenings, late night shopping, treasure hunts around the trader’s market, and a meeting with the man himself in our very own grotto! Keep reading for more information.

DOTTE

dotte was created in 2020 to provide a solution to the fastest area of fashion, but we have rapidly grown into a progressive, fashion-conscious community of like-minded parents. By opening up thousands of children’s wardrobes with our family-to-family marketplace, we offer a simple one-stop-shop where parents can give their kid’s clothes a second life and earn money to reinvest in the brands they love – but also reduce their family carbon footprint and protect the planet.

For this fabulous festive pop up we’ll be bringing a range of sought-after independent labels and popular brands, including Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses, TinyCottons, Another Fox and more.

As well as rails of beautiful second hand garments to explore, there will be a craft station where children will use fabric scraps to create sustainable fashion accessories, explore self expression and get a chance to share their hopes for the future on handmade Christmas decorations.

On top of all this fun, dotte will be providing three creative and family friendly workshops on the theme of promoting sustainability  – one of our core missions!

Friday 16th December:
16:00-17:00: Join Natalie Marcus (@erinandarthur) in making beautiful Christmas cards and decorations from recycled materials to reduce your impact on the environment. Make a festive photo frame or angel ornament to adorn your home or give them to loved ones as a personalised gift.
Saturday 17th December:
10:30-11:30am: Try your hand at making a ribbon wreath and learn fabric knotting skills to create a mini Christmas tree. You’ll use a combination of natural and sustainable materials to create beautiful pieces to dress up your home over the festive season and beyond.
14:30-15:30: Sarah Hudson (@magpieandhen_vintage) will guide you through the process of making a fabric mini-mosaic artwork. Your designs will come to life with fabric waste scraps from the fashion industry, making the world a more beautiful place without doing it any harm!
