Elephants in The City: A Herd of Hope at Spitalfields
Something special is coming to Spitalfields on Tuesday 12th August 2025 to mark World Elephant Day and it’s going to be big (literally).
In partnership with the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Spitalfields is celebrating the Herd of Hope, a public art installation of 21 life-sized bronze elephant sculptures that have been roaming the streets of Spitalfields Market since 2021. Scan the QR codes beneath each elephant to discover its unique rescue story and support the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust with a donation.
Join us to help raise awareness about the threats facing African elephants and the urgent need to protect them. Visit Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s on-site conservation stall, where you can hear incredible rescue stories, meet the team behind the mission and discover fun, easy ways to make a real difference, including a quick tap-to-donate to support orphaned elephants. Perfect for families who are looking for a fun and educational day out during the summer holidays.
You can also browse and buy Sheldrick Wildlife Trust merchandise, including limited-edition elephant bronze statues and more. Plus, explore Elizabeth Scarlett’s limited-edition collection, from makeup bags to purses and eye masks; every purchase from this collection contributes to the care and protection of elephants in the care of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Come for the elephants, stay for the cause and help us raise awareness for these gentle giants.
