Spitalfields are proud to be a part of the Mayor’s of London Let’s Do London campaign to support the reopening of the capital. We have various exciting free family-friendly pop-up events happening across the half term week from Wednesday 27th – Sunday 31st October. We hope to see you down for plenty of fun for all ages.
The Top Hat
In the world of magic, the leading man and his (silent!) female assistant remain a largely unchallenged convention. With Arts Council funding, The Top Hat Act challenges gender stereotypes in a fun, accessible family friendly show.
Monday 25th October in Bishops Square from 12pm to 4pm
Jack Defrost
Jack Defrost is a solo pop-up show, unravelling the traditional character of Jack Frost and his journey through the changing seasons. Think contemporary dance meets Winter Wonderland.
Wednesday 27th October in Crispin Place from 12.30pm to 5pm
Box Set
BOX-SET is the post-lockdown antidote to the saturation of screen time: a live, improvised series of comedy ‘episodes’ with a cast of 5 performers, taking suggestions from the audience to create a unique but recognisable, BoxSet. Improvised musical comedy.
Friday 29th October in Bishops Square from 12pm to 12.30pm
The Lips
Three giant pairs of lips, joyfully lip-syncing and dancing to music; fun, visually stunning singalongs from artist identifying as neurodiverse. The Lips are a chorus of delightfully deviant divas whose mouths have broken free from their bodies!
Saturday 30th October in Bishops Square from 12pm to 5pm
Bollywood Dance
Bollywood are back! Enjoy Bollywood with the BollyRed team while they provide a free workshop and performance session all about Bollywood music & dance live on Bishops Square.
Saturday 30th October in Bishops Square from 12pm to 5pm
Gandini
High profile circus company; 9 performers spectacularly juggling with fruit (80 oranges, 7 watermelons). Themes cover gender role reversal and contemporary circus.
Sunday 31st October in Bishops Square from 12pm to 4pm
