Spitalfields Market Planned Reopening, June 15th 2020
In preparation for the easing of the UK lockdown, we have been working hard behind the scenes on our strategy to ensure Spitalfields Market planned reopening on the 15th of June 2020 is secure, safe and complies with Government guidelines.
The Traders Market will reopen, operating with a reduced number of stalls which have been redesigned with perspex screens & appropriate spacing to provide protection for both the stallholder and customers.
Many of our shops will open where social distancing can be maintained. Leon continues to trade and Giraffe and Brother Marcus will look to operate with a delivery and/or takeaway collection service only.
To protect the health and safety of our market traders and visiting public, Spitalfields Market planned reopening includes promoting the practice of social distancing and good hygiene with the following measures.
Increased signage encouraging visitors to wash hands frequently and effectively, as well as advice on how to spot COVID-19 symptoms
Implementation of a 1-way system on Market Street and in Crispin Place, which will be clearly marked out with floor stencils
Hand sanitizer stations have been positioned around the Market
