Consuelo Jalees

Consuelo is a designer-maker born and based in London.

I love clothes and designing. Garments that are comfortable and fluid, or structured, inspired by origami, 1980s fun-times, and Japanese traditional clothing and textiles. I hate waste. I like to re-purpose fabrics and clothing, and avoid using synthetic non-biodegradable materials.

Recent projects have included: fluid viscose jersey wear with seam detailing, crisp cotton cut-out back blouses and cargo-pocket culottes, geometrically quilted silk or wool blend scarves, watercolour hand painted t-shirts, and asymmetrically seamed silk crepe colour-block blouses. I am currently working on blouses made from re-purposed silk kimono.
