According to research, there are more than 3.5 million people in Britain who now identify as a vegan – a number that has continued to skyrocket year after year. With that in mind, what better addition to the Spitalfields estate than a fruit-based café?
We’d like to introduce you to Lollipop, London’s first fruit-based café where over 80% of the menu contains fruit. You can find Lollipop located on Market Street, sitting comfortably between Montezuma’s Chocolates and Bedales Wines – you won’t be able to miss the striking turquoise and fuchsia pink chairs tucked under tables outside.
When Lollipop opened its doors at the start of September, we couldn’t wait to get down there to try out the menu and we can confirm that it absolutely did not disappoint. From kale salads to chocolate fudge waffles, whether you’re vegan or not, there’s something for everyone. We were more than spoilt for choice but opted for a ‘Berry Del Rey’ smoothie (a combination of banana, orange, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, hemp seeds and vanilla), the ‘Medusa’ salad (raw pad Thai, courgette, carrot, bean sprouts, peppers and pistachios in a tasty peanut sauce), and finished with banana ice cream topped with hazelnuts and raspberries – a winning combination.
Take a look at their Instagram feed for a sneaky peak of what’s on offer. Warning: it will make your mouth water!
Don’t forget to tag us in your snaps of their Instagrammable dishes and quirky interiors. We’d love to know what you think of our new addition.
