Pick Up A Carluccio’s Picnic This Summer at Spitalfields

Come rain or shine, you can picnic with confidence with Carluccio's in Spitalfields this summer. Pick up a picnic at Spitalfields Caluccio's for a fantastic taste of Italy, complete with Carluccio's crema solare (sun cream) and limited edition ombrello (umbrella)* – ready for anything the British summer brings!

Every picnic comes in a smart, re-useable cool bag, complete with paper plates, napkins and re-useable cutlery and cups. Picnickers who bring back their re-useable cool bag will receive £3 off their next picnic purchase.

Something For Everyone at Spitalfields Carluccio's

Carluccio's is offering five picnics, including two for vegetarians and one for children, priced at £45 or £60 for two adults and £10 for one child. These are proper Italian feasts, with generous portions of dishes such as:

• insalata ligure (trofie pasta salad with green beans, parmesan, pinenuts and pesto);
• antipasti misti (selection of antipasti including chill-stuffed olives, sun-blush tomatoes, balsamic onions and salami Napoli);
• cosce di pollo ripiene (oven roasted chicken legs stuffed with herbs, breadcrumbs and mortadella wrapped in pancetta) and
• pate di sgombro affumicato (smoked mackerel pate with toasted cantina bread).

Desserts include:

• fragolecon limone e zucchero (fresh strawberries with lemon and sugar);
• tortine di frutta (individual fruit tarts) and
• biscotti di carluccio (delicious biscuits from Piedmont).

All adult picnics include pane rustico (Rustic sourdough bread), acqua panna mineral water and a choice of either red or white Sicilian Sicani wine.

Special Carluccio's Picnic for Children

Making sure there's something for everyone, the bambini can enjoy the same high quality Italian food as the grown-ups with a cestino (picnic) all of their own including:

• mild salame Milanese (cold cut of meat from North Italy),
• maionese al tonno (tuna mayonnaise),
• polpette (beef and aubergine meatballs)
• sedano e carote (celery and carrot sticks),
• pizette (a small vegetarian pizza),
• formaggio asiago (slice of artisan Italian cheese),
• orso di cioccolato (a chocolate sponge bear with Smartie buttons),
• frutta di stagione (a piece of fruit) and
• succo di stagione (freshly squeezed orange juice).

Picnics are available to order at Carluccio's in Spitalfields and all Carluccio's caffès until late September. To avoid disappointment, please order at least 24 hours in advance.
