WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US

At Spitalfields E1 we work with a wide range of organisations and local community groups providing opportunities for small businesses, charities, entertainers and artists to utilise the spaces in and around Spitalfields Market.

We hope it adds to the atmosphere that makes Spitalfields a place where you can always discover something unexpected and provides opportunity for all these different groups.

Médecins Sans Frontières

3rd October 2011

“I am writing to say a huge "Thank You" for facilitating and supporting our 3D film exhibition as part of our MSF Delivers campaign last week. We were delighted to be able to host the public exhibit side of our campaign in a location as fantastic as Spitalfields market.

In line with the objectives of our campaign, we were able to raise awareness of our medical humanitarian work around the world through telling the story of one British midwife working in the Democratic Republic of Congo, using the medium of 3D film. This was an exciting project for us as we've not done anything like it before - and thanks to your support - the exhibit ran smoothly, despite the complex logistics and equipment involved!

The response from the passing public who sat and watched our 3D films was fantastic and we hope the new support gained form this event will turn in to longer term support and greater awareness of our humanitarian work around the world.

We would not have been able to run the event if it were not for the amazing support from you and your teams. On behalf of MSF, thank you for making it possible.” Aisha Dodwell, Public Engagement Manager, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders)

River Tango 2011

27th September 2011

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for having trusted us again and for giving us the chance to organize River Tango. We are happy to say we are very pleased with the results. Throughout the day, River Tango was visited by hundreds of people, most of which stayed from the beginning to the very end, whether as audience of the show or taking an active part in it, on the dance floor.

We can say that we were visited, once again, by an audience of ages ranging from 0 to 99. We also would like to thank you for appointing Xavier, who was extremely professional and assisted us unconditionally throughout the event.”

Catherine Boyd, Project Office, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, 24th May 2010

“On behalf of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, I would like to thank the Spitalfields Estate for the considerable support of the 2010 Baishakhi Mela.
As a direct result of Spitalfields Estate’s support we were able to increase the participation of local community groups, schools and Bangladeshi artists. Not only did this (sic) result in the biggest and most spectacular procession to date but it also provided a vital opportunity for increased visibility of Bangladeshi Culture in Spitalfields, Brick Lane area and its surrounds. ”

Macmillan’s Brick Lane Takeover

17th June 2010

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help with the Brick Lane Takeover in the lead up to the event and on the day itself. We have really enjoyed working with you, you have been absolutely amazing, and we just couldn’t pull off such a great event without you! Spitalfields is such a great spot for an event like this so we are incredibly grateful that we can work with you and really appreciate your kind support in making it happen.

The event was a great success and we have had lots of positive feedback from attendees, bands and press which is fantastic! Money is still coming in for the event, but it is looking like we raised in the region of £20,000 which we are extremely happy with. We have also no doubt engaged with many more young people to let them know about the work that Macmillan does which is fantastic.”
